Chiayi HSR to Alishan Forest Recreation Area

I%26#39;ve heard that on holidays and weekends there are direct buses from Chiayi HSR to Alishan. First, can anyone confirm this, and does anyone have the times going and coming back?

Also, while 30 January this year is not a holiday, will there be direct buses from Chiayi HSR on that day? If not, where can I get a bus from Chiayi to Alishan?

Chiayi HSR to Alishan Forest Recreation Area

According to the Chiayi Bus website http://www.cybus.gov.tw/timetable.jsp there is one bus departure at Chiayi HSR Station on Sat, Sun and public holidays only at 0940 hrs to Alishan. As 30 January 2009 is a Friday, I do not think there will be a direct bus from Chiayi HSR Station to Alishan. The bus schedule Daya %26lt; %26gt; Fenchihu / Alishan is given in the above website. The buses originate from Daya bus Station, about 15 mins bus ride to reach Chiayi Bus Station. The left column indicates the departure times, its final destination indicated in brackets. The right column indicates the departure times, its origin indicated in brackets. Departure times on specific days only are also indicated in brackets.

Buses depart Chiayi Bus Station (on right side of Chiayi Railway Station exit) at 0610, 0810, 1210 and 1410 hrs direct to Alishan. There is an extra bus departure at Chiayi Bus Station on Sat, Sun and public holidays only at 1010 hrs heading to Alishan and makes a stop at Fenchihu. The bus departs Fenchihu at 1155 hrs to Alishan.
