Hey! I%26#39;ll be going Taipei on the 5th to 10th jan. Would like to know how%26#39;s the weather like and also what kind of clothings to wear! The weather forecast says the temperature would be between 13 to 18 degrees. May I know if jeans, a tshirt and a cotton jacket (the giordano kind) is sufficient enough? Or do I need a coat like this : www.forever21.com/product.asp鈥?/a>
Please advice! I have a coat that looks like the F21 one but I%26#39;m afraid it%26#39;ll be too warm.
Thanks! (:

Bring the coat along.
Jeans, T-shirt and a cotton jacket may be fine for the day; but if you plan to venture out at night, or wants to go someplace cooler such as YMS or Jiu-Fen, it will not be enough. It is always better to be safe than sorry, after all, nothing is worse than to catch a cold and have it ruin your entire trip.

I second Pcheng%26#39;s wise advice, Qtqtqt.
Though I%26#39;m afraid of heat n perspire easily, I will need a coat when it%26#39;s 13 degrees.
For my nephews who each has (multiple!) layers of natural fats, they were happy touring Taiwan (15 - 21 degrees) in just long pants %26amp; long-sleeves tees, during our Nov trip.
But the rest of us had a better %26amp; cooler reason to put on our winter wear in Taiwan - look good mah..
How often do we get to pile on fashionable layers of clothes in hot %26amp; humid Singapore haha? :-)
Enjoy a blast in Taipei!

I just returned from Taipei yesterday.
We, from HK, had to wear basically a down jacket for the kids, and for the adults, a down jacket when we went to Leofoo, and when the temperature was about 12... it was FREEZING!
When we had sunshine, it was ok, but whenever it was windy, which tended to be the last few days.... it gets chilly and cold.
I think it%26#39;s best to have a sweater, or cardigan, then a coat as outer layer, when indoors, we take off the coats.
I was going to bring a cotton coat too, but thank goodness I didn%26#39;t, I brought the down coats.
However, it really depends whether you are sensitive to cold weather, like my brother in law, from Canada, he was basically in a short sleeve t-shirt in the day time, but at night, he put on a sweat shirt, he said he was cool.
Hope this helps.
Hi,
It is really cold indoors and the forcast - 9 C on Friday then ~~Sat and Sunday Monday _6C~7C at night. Brrrrrrr -It%26#39;s gonna be real cold so come really prepared.
Bring that coat, you will need it. Even at 12C, when you walk into the shade out of the Sun, you can feel the chill.

Make sure to bring water proof shoes like Crocs or something not slippery because it%26#39;s been raining here everyday for the past 3 days.
Also a jacket with a hood helps for light drizzles so you don%26#39;t need to constantly hold an umbrella, to free up your arm to carry some shopping bags!
I%26#39;m from NY, so i don%26#39;t feel so cold here compare to NY. I may not be good on giving advice on clothing...
Hi. It is cold there around 12-20 degrees. Remember to bring your coat, scarf and some extra clothing to keep you warm. Remember to bring an umbrella or poncho as it can rain in Taipei. It also gets pretty cold when it rains. Anyway you will love the weather since it is so hot in Singapore. :)
