Please Help!! Many queries!!

Hello! I%26#39;ll be going to Taipei in two weeks time! Would like to visit a themepark over there! Looking for exciting and thrilling rides! Any recommendations?

Also, may I know if Sun Moon Lake is worth visiting? I%26#39;ve read a lot of about Taroko in this forum but I didn%26#39;t see much of Sun Moon Lake. Is it boring?

May I know if there are any strawberry farms in Taipei? Able to provide traveling directions? How much does it cost to pluck strawberries there?

Any of you know where is the hotspring place that was featured on Taiwanese drama Bu Liang Xiao Hua? I%26#39;m very attracted to the Japanese style bedrooms and would like to spend a night there sleeping on the mat/mattress!

Lastly, anyone knows where can I eat bamboo rice? I%26#39;ve also watched this show whereby live prawns are placed over hot stones and then served for eating. May I know where can I try this is Taipei? Really wanna try it! Also, I%26#39;ve also watched this show whereby the chicken is cooked underground and is covered by some thing like looks like hardened mud/soil and you have to like knock the hardened thing off to eat the chicken inside. Anyone knows where can I find that?

If anyone know if any unique Taiwanese cuisine, please let me know!

Thanks!! Please do reply if you know any answers to my questions! Thanks in advance! (:

Please Help!! Many queries!!

Hey, please help... ):

Please Help!! Many queries!!

I personally thought Sun Moon Lake was eh... The view wasn%26#39;t very spectacular. The place was pretty rural. And it was pretty insular (We borrowed a car and there was lots of winding roads).

Is there a reason you wanted to visit Sun Moon Lake?

Okay thanks!! Don%26#39;t really have any reason to go there, just want to see some nice scenery. (: Do you know any answers to my other questions? Really need help for those! Thanks! (:

Some amusement theme parks in Taiwan:

Leofoo Village Theme Park in Hsinchu County: www.leofoo.com.tw/village/parkinfo_ticket.php

Janfusun Fancy World in Yunlin County: http://www.janfusan.com.tw

Yamay Resort in Taichung County: http://www.yamay.com.tw/index.asp

Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village in Nantou County: http://www.nine.com.tw/english/e-welcome.htm

Janfusan Fancy World is probably the biggest and most popular of all theme parks in Taiwan.

Places to explore in Sun Moon Lake (748m AMSL) include: Wen-wu Temple, Tzu-En Pagoda, Lalu Island (Kwang Hwa Island), Peacock Garden, Butterfly Garden, hiking trails including up Mt Maolan to the weather station, yacht / boat ride to Ita Thao Village (Dehua Village) to view cultural performances, Syuentzand Temple and Syuenguang Temple.

Strawberry farms in Taipei city are Bi Shan Li in Neihu District and Ping Deng Li in Shihlin District (near Yang Ming Shan). Usually there is no admission charge. Hourly charges sometimes apply for strawberry picking and may vary from farm to farm. In 1992, there was no hourly charge when I picked strawberries in the farm in Bi Shan Li, Neihu District. The strawberries picked are sold by weight.

Bamboo rice are easily purchased from food stalls in aboriginal culture villages like Wulai, Fenchihu, Alishan, Sun Moon Lake and Hualien. Sometimes also available in the city areas.

Shin Yeh Restaurants serve authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Also serve Japanese food. For information, Shin Yeh Restaurant has recently opened its first outlet in Singapore at Liang Court.

Thank you so much!! You%26#39;re really knowledgeable! Your information is really helpful!! (:

Do you know where can I find Tu Yao Ji (chicken cooked underground) in Taipei and any restaurants that serve prawns cooked on hot stones?

I would also like to go Wulai for hotspring! Is there only one hotspring resort or many hotspring resorts? Which is the best? How much does it cost usually? Is it better to go in the day or at night? Can I go without staying at the resort?

Also, are the shopping malls worth visiting in Taipei? Are they around the same as Singapore%26#39;s?

How long do people normally spend at Danshui? Thinking of going Danshui from 9am to 5pm, then head to a night market nearby. Is it too long? Any night markets near Danshui?

Hope you can help! Thanks in advance! (:

hi

will be travelling to taipei this wed... will want to try out the strawberry farm in shilin district this time.

Hi,

There are a lot of hotspring resorts in Wulai.

But I don%26#39;t know which one is the best.

Maybe someone will reply to you.

The cost depends on the level of the hotsprings.

The range of the cost is large.

But I think if you just want to have hotspring for 1 or 2 hrs. I think the price should be within 1000 NTD per person. (I think 1000 NTD for 1 or 2 hrs hotspring is expensive ^^';)

I think one or half day in Danshui are both good.

It depends on you.

More time, more relax.

Regards,

Sorry, can鈥檛 help you on Tu Yao Ji and prawns cooked on hot stones.

There are many hot spring resorts in Wulai. Some hot spring resorts in Wulai popular with forumers:

Full Moon Spa: http://www.fullmoonspa.com.tw

Sun Moon Light: http://www.sunmoonlighthotspring.com.tw

Spring Park Urai Spa and Resort: http://www.springparkhotel.com.tw

Hot spring baths can be enjoyed in the day and night. Most of the hot spring resorts do entertain walk-in guests for 1~2 hours private soak.

Shopping malls in Taipei has some similarities to those in Singapore, in my opinion.

How long to spend at Danshui depends on whether you include a visit to the historical sites of Danshui 鈥?Fort San Domingo, Danshui Mackay Hospital, Octagonal Tower, Oxford College etc and also whether you include a visit across the opposite bank to Pali Township for bicycle rides, seafood and snacks. Most people spent about half a day, usually the later part of the day. Shops in Danshui Old Street generally open around 1030~1100 hrs. There is more activity in the late afternoon and evening. The scene at Fishermen%26#39;s Wharf (Lover%26#39;s Bridge) during dusk may be better than daylight, in my opinion. Danshui鈥檚 night market is at Gongming Street (near Danshui MRT Station)

Thank you! (: I%26#39;ll be going Taipei on 2 Jan to 8 Jan, do you think there will still be strawberries to pick?

Hi,

Generally speaking,

strawberry season is from Dec to April.

You should be able to pick strawberry .

Regards,
