Chinese new year trip - pls help

Sorry I know there%26#39;re already numerous topics on this, but now I%26#39;m a bit concerned because I%26#39;ve booked a trip to Taipei during CNY and am worried that most places I want to go to will be closed. Can someone look at my list and see if I should change anything? Pls help, thanks!!

Sun Jan 25 -

1. DiHua street (I guess this should be alright?)

2. 101, Xinyi Mitsukoshi (should be open?)

3. Gongguan, Shida night markets (will these be open?)

Mon Jan 26 -

1. Shi fen (will I have trouble with transport getting there?)

2. Jiu fen (will the stalls on Old Street be closed?)

3. Dun-nan Eslite (will this be open?)

Tue Jan 27 -

1. Palace Museum (I hear this is open year-round)

2. DanShui, Bali (will it be really quiet here?)

In general, will the MRT system will run on normal hours?

%26lt;%26lt; Should be alright, although some of the shops may be closed.

%26lt;%26lt; They are open but may close earlier then usual (like 6pm) since its new year%26#39;s eve.

3. Gongguan, Shida night markets (will these be open?)

%26lt;%26lt; Should be alright, although some of the shops /restaurant may be closed..

Mon Jan 26 -

1. Shi fen (will I have trouble with transport getting there?)

%26lt;%26lt; No, since the trains operate normally at that time.

2. Jiu fen (will the stalls on Old Street be closed?)

%26lt;%26lt; I don%26#39;t think so since CNY is a peak time for domestic travel. But be careful about possible traffic jams.

3. Dun-nan Eslite (will this be open?)

%26lt;%26lt; Yes.

%26lt;%26lt; No, it will be more crowded then what you can imagine.

In general, will the MRT system will run on normal hours?

%26lt;%26lt; Yes, but waiting time be be a little longer.

If coming from Shuanglian MRT Station, board bus Red 33 or walk for about 20 mins to Dihua Street.

thank you!

Hi,

A forumer reported that Shifen waterfall was still closed as of last month, so you may want to check on that before going.

Welcome to the forums, Morae.

Well, as CC highlighted: the Shifen waterfall may still be closed by CNY..

Still, I believe PingXi railway trail is a great place to enjoy the scenery of rustic railroad villages %26amp; goldmining town..

Just am not sure if the shops will be opened during the CNY period..

Hv yr fun in Taiwan!
