Onestar in chang an

Is this hotel good? in term of room and location? anybody stay there before ?

Onestar in chang an

Am also considering this for my trip next year. The rooms look quite nice and they offer one-time transport (once per day) to anywhere in the city. Have emailed the hotel and understand they are located on the 12th floor. Have to take lift up. The floors below consist of:

1) 1st floor: Cafe and bakery

2) 2nd-4th floor: Cinema

3) 5th to 11th floor: Home offices

So far, they have been quite responsive to email queries (at least seems friendly from this front).

Am also very keen to hear comments from other forumers and people who stayed there before.

When are you going there?

Onestar in chang an

we are going on 26.12.

yes, they are friendly and responsed promptly.

So far , i neve come across good reviews for this hotel. Everybody is talking about the other ONE STAR.

I hope i did not make the wrong choice.

Would really love to hear what others say about this hotel.

If really no good, guess i will change to SILKEN HOTEL.

I posted request for comments on this hotel before just fyi. (tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293913-i9546-k240…)

There seems to be few people who could provide comments on it. But if you do end up choosing this hotel and staying there, please let us know how it was. Thanks.

i will definitely give you an update when i come back next year.

We will be staying there for 4 nights, in between we go to Yilan Shangrila farm for 1 night stay.

it seem alot of singaporean are staying in TS, SEE YOU, WONSTAR, RAINBOW..ETC. which are very popular.

innitally, we still cannot decide between SILKEN and ONESTAR, in the end we go for ONESTAR because of their prompt reply and they sound friendly and helpful.

So we decided to go for it.

Ya, they are really very prompt in their replies to emails. And they keep assuring me that their ';大樓非常單純'; (direct translation: building very innocent). Hope it really is and you will have a nice stay. So, when are you going there?

going 27.12 and back 01.01.

hope the building is like what they said, we have 2 elderly and 2 young children with us.

when are you going?

Am going next year. 7-16 March.

Went to Taiwan same time as you 2 years ago. Are you planning to go see their fireworks display on new year%26#39;s eve? I assume it%26#39;s still on this year at Taipei 101 is it?

Hi. From my theoretical research on the One Star Hotels from tripadvisor and other travel sites (all its 3 branches). Near One Star Chang-An is the Wu fen Pu market and within its walking distance across the bridge is the many good eats Raohe Market. Am going Taipei next week. Had been burning the midnight candle since last October searching for hotels and fun things to do at Taiwan. I myself has booked a room at One Star Chongquing.

Until I manage to take some pictures of my own, this is the best I can do in finding a street scene of the area---someone%26#39;s blog! The photo was taken facing northeast; that%26#39;s the Fuxing N. Rd. (right) %26amp; Changan E. Rd. (left) intersection.

The Onestar Changan building can%26#39;t be seen in the photo---it%26#39;s on the right, next door to Sunrise Dept. Store. (Not sure if Sunrise has closed---it was a bit on the high end side.) The area isn%26#39;t as hot as around MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing a couple of blocks south, but it%26#39;s all right. If you look at this map of the area:

taipei.mmmtravel.com.tw/index_m.php…

Clockwise, the map indicates: Adventist Hospital (IBM is next door to Adventist), TTV, Ningxia Night Market, Asiaworld Mall %26amp; Taipei Arena. Also in the area are junior high and elementary schools and residential apartments.

Since Guoguang Chunglun Station is nearby, back in our younger days my friend who lived in Keelung would come down and we would hang out in the area eating, shopping and seeing movies. There are many office buildings in the area as well.

And now for the ';bad'; (?) news....

Omega3 posted in 3/2006: ';the hotel at Chang An is pretty cheap if you book direct, i think its only NT 1500+. The service is quite good. Only that it is about 10-15 minutes walk from MRT and its in a dingy building.';

But to end it on a good note, XiaoMaGe wrote: ';One Star Chang An is Superb!'; For more, read his Nov. 25, 2006 post:

And yes, the fireworks at Taipei 101 will be better than ever this year, according to officials.

Sorry, that%26#39;s Changan E. Rd. on the right and Fuxing N. Rd. on the left
