New Year's Eve in Taipei

Hi,

I have the option of spending New Year%26#39;s Eve in Taipei, or continuing on to Tokyo. Could someone please advise if Taipei is a good place to spend New Year%26#39;s Eve? My wife will be along, so we are looking at having a nice dinner followed by a countdown party. Should we give Taipei a try, or should we move on to Tokyo? Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Jerry, don%26#39;t know what Tokyo has in store for NY%26#39;s eve but the count down party here would be held at Taipei 101.Hyatt hotel would be a good vantage point.

Taipei is quite a happening for NY Eve Experience. One really great firework display at the 101 building at midnight, food , live music, street performers and about 500,000 people in the streets at one time in this area:

Thank you, mariatan and nuttyazn for the great tips. I%26#39;ll see if I can rearrange my flight schedule. I spent New Year%26#39;s Eve in Tokyo about 15 years ago, and it was okay, but Taipei sounds like more fun.

Sounds like an exciting place to be for New Years.
