As I struggled to find info re flights to Green Island I thought there may be others out there who would find the information I found useful.

Flights to Green Island (Lyudao Airport) are run by Daily Air from Taitung and cost NT1028 each way.

Taitung to Green Island

However to book the flights the number to call is 02-2712-3995. They do speak english!

When on Green Island we stayed at the Tien Jia B%26amp;B. Ms Chung speaks good english and will meet you at the airport or ferry terminal. Their number is (089) 672268 and the website in mandarin is http://www.tienjia.idv.tw.

Rooms are large and spacious and beds firm. A room cost us NT1000 although this was out of season.

They can also sort out diving for you.

Green Island Info

Unless you suffer from severe motion sickness, I recommend taking ferries to flying.

First of all, a ferry ride is much cheaper; and at 45 minutes, it didn%26#39;t take that much longer to reach Green Island. Secondly, a ferry can shuttle around 250 to 300 people per boat, while the plane only has seating for less than 20 passengers. Last but not least, Green island airport is not an easy airporrt for pilots. It has relatively short runways, and the approaching aircraft must make a last minute 90 degree bank just seconds before lining up with the runway, and the airport is prone to shut down on rainy and foggy days.
