12D11N Taiwan in Feb !

I will be going to Taiwan between 12-23 Feb! Hope you experts out there can give me some advice if my itinerary plan works in terms of order/packness etc. Also, as it’s also Valentine Day, is there any activities which I should not miss?

Day 1(Thur): Taipei

Touchdown Taipei @6.40pm. Check-in hotel plus haircut @ XMD

Day 2(Fri): Chingjing (青青草原 +六大步道)

Kuo Kuang buses depart Taipei West Bus Station at every hour on the hour from 0600 to 2100 hrs. Fare: NT$400 (one-way) NT$720 (return) Travel time: About 4 hrs (one-way)

Nantou buses depart Puli at 0600, 0710, 0835, 1020, 1400 and 1635 hrs for Chingjing farm (via Wu-she). The final destination signs on the buses indicate heading to Sung-gang or Tsuei-fong. Fare to Chingjing farm: NT$106 Travel time: About 60 mins

Day 3 (Sat) : Taichung (国立自然科学博物馆 +精明一街 +春水堂+ 一中街商圈 + 逢甲商圈)

Nantou buses depart Chingjing farm at 0730, 1000, 1038, 1235, 1635 and 1810 hrs for Puli. Fare: NT$106 Travel time: About 60 mins.

Nantou buses depart Puli for Taichung HSR Station (in Wurih) or Taichung Railway Station Station (in downtown).

Travel time: 1 hr 15 mins (Puli to Taichung HSR Station) / 1 hr 35 mins (Puli to Taichung Railway Station)

Day 4(Sun): Taichung %26amp;/ Kaohsiung

Taichung: 台中乐成宫 +天外天麻辣火锅 +太阳堂饼店+万益千层豆干)

Kaohsiung: Urban Spotlight + Dream Mall + Love River/ Shinchuan Flea Mkt (near Wufu Rd)

Day 5(Mon): Kaohsiung

旗津 + Confucius Temple +原宿玉竹商圈 +新堀江購物商圈+ 三多商圈 +六合夜市

Day 6 (Tue): Taipei + Leofoo + Gongguan + Shida NM

Leofoo: Take MRT to Zhong Xiao Dun Hua Station. Exit the station at exit 8. Cross the road on the left to the bus stop and board the coach with %26#39;台連客運%26#39; on the top of windscreen. The coach will stop at the ticketing counter half way through the journey for ticket purchase. Bus interval is 40min. Bus journey is 1.5hr, Ticket price is NT$120 (one-way) NT$240 (return).For admission tickets, remember to bring along the youth travel card or student card (overseas student card also can) for discount - student cards has more discount.

A convenient way to travel is to board a MRT train heading towards “Nanshijiao”. Alight at Jing-an Station. Board TaiLien’s E-go (Taiwan United) buses outside Jing-an Station to Leofoo. Bus fare: NT$120 (one-way) NT$240 (return) Travel time: About 1 hr one-way

Day 7 (Wed): Taipei

Taipei zoo + Maokong + Shenkeng Tofu Street + Shilin NM

Day 8 (Thur): Taipei (Hotspring @ Beitou + Tianmu

Factory Outlet Shopping + Wufenpu + Raohe NM)

Tianmu: From Zhongshan N Rd any section take bus : 220. to the end {Sec 7) Last Stop [2 sections cost you NTD30/-] The Bus ride is nice all the way from Section 1 to Section 7. Most shops open after 2 pm till about 9.30.

If you are on the MRT,the you can take it to Shipai. Then walk out of Station, left side to traffic Light , turn right and keep walking. Lots of Shops and food joints there as well,only empty spot is near the hospital.

Lots of shops on TianMu West Rd as well (Not Factory outlets) Junction of Tian Mu West Rd and Tian Mu N. Rd. great place to eat local food,worth a visit(You will see them frying the NiuRo Shien Pin, Chung Pin e.t.c.)

You will see all the shops when you walk up Zhongshan N Rd Section 7 on the right side of the road.

Day 9 (Fri): Taipei (YMS + Danshui)

YMS: 杨明山国家公园 +小油坑+竹子湖海芋田

Danshui: 小白宮 +渔人码头 +淡水老街

Day 10(Sat): Taipei (Rueifang + Jingtong + Pingxi + Shifen + Jiufen)

Day 11(Sun): Taipei

Longshan Si + Book Street + XMD + MMOT + Zhongxiao Fuxing +永和豆浆+丁好周边 -忠孝敦化站+忠孝东路4段 +纽约纽约 (Mister Donut, Basement Sukiyaki) +台北 101 +林江夜市 + Eslite Dunhua Bookstore 24 hr +清粥小菜

Day 12 (Mon) :Taipei – Singapore

Last minute shopping + Home Sweet Home

Besides Nantou buses and Toyota Wish cabs serving the above route, Chuan Hang (全航) buses ply the same route. Chuan Hang Bus: http://www.chbus.com.tw/road_map_1a.htm

Frequency: Every 15 mins. The bus proceeds to Fengjia Night Market after reaching Taichung Railway Station. Toyota Wish cabs will be faster.

Day 6 (Tue): Taipei + Leofoo + Gongguan + Shida NM

TaiLien’s E-go (Taiwan United) 台聯客運 buses depart Songshan Domestic Airport; 1st pickup stop at Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT Station exit 8 i.e Dunhua S Rd Sec 1 (southbound traffic), 2nd pickup stop at NW side of Dunhua S Rd Sec 1 / Zhongxiao E Rd Sec 4 intersection -- opposite Timberland shop.

The bus stop that will take you to WOC from Zhong Xiao Dun Hua MRT is in ';the middle of the road';, there are many lanes there and you should cross half way and there%26#39;s a rather long bus stop. The bus information to WOC is located at the extreme head of the bus stop (where the bus is heading)”

Window On China (WOC) is about 10 mins%26#39; bus ride from Leofoo Village Theme Park.

The itinerary for the other days is fine.

Re going to Tianmu:

The preferred method of going to Tianmu from Ximending (faster, but requires two transfers) is:

%26gt; MRT Ximen to MRT Taipei Main Station

%26gt; MRT Taipei Main Station to MRT Shipai

%26gt; Bus R19 (eastbound) to Tianmu

Bus 220 is the ';scenic ride';---long (about 40 min. from Ximending to Tianmu), but you get to see more of the city. Board on BoAi Rd. or Hengyang Rd., a 5 min. walk from Ximending.
