Firstly, Thank you to your forum. I found it a valuable source of information in planning our trip. We stayed in Taiwan for 10 days with 2 days at Taroko Gorge, 3 days doing DIY trips out of Taipei and 3 days sightseeing in Taipei. We stayed at Leader Village Taroko for 2 nights and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a moderate budget. The facilities are excellent and the view spectacular. Our accomodation at the Yomi hotel was also great and affordable. The front desk staff are good, a tasty chinese/japanese breakfast and free laundry facilities. We managed exploring ourselves with the help of forum advice, maps and many helpful Taipei residents.
I hope to return again one day.
