Hi

I am planning a Free%26amp;Easy trip for myself and my wife during 13 Mar 09 to 17 Mar 09 and intending to stay at Rainbow Hotel which is at XMD. First, hows the weather during this period?...cold? and does it rain alot? i would prefer cooling weather so we can shop without pespiring.

As i will forsee myself arriving at about 1500hrs, i believe we can take FreeGo bus straight to Rainbow hotel from the airport right? what bus no. should i take? Also my return flight should be about 1500hrs. so last day i can only shop abit around my hotel area before taking FreeGo bus back to airport.

Then after checking into my hotel, i believe its already eveing time so i will spend the rest of the day walking and eating at XMD. (Any recommendations to go other places?)

Then from Day 2 to Day 4, where should i visit as i saw from the forum that there are so many places such as JiuFen, Danshui, WuFenPu, Rao He, Keelung, Queen Head..Shilin, Taipei 101, Sun Yat Sun Memorial...etc to visit which i doubt i can cover it within 3 full days.

Can you guys recommend me those places which are more interesting and worthful to visit due to my time constraint?

Rainbow Hotel is in the heart of Xi Men Ding (XMD). It is about 6 mins’ walk from exit 6 of Ximen MRT Station.

Free Go buses (飛狗巴士) from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA) to Taipei Songshan Domestic Airport (桃園機場往台北松山機場) goes to XMD and Ximen MRT Station. Free Go buses usually stop at Rongxing Garden (榮星花園) near Xingtian Temple for those passengers heading to XMD to make transfer to another bus to bring them to the doorstep of some hotels including Rainbow Hotel. The last bus that goes into XMD departs TTIA at 1830 hrs. Bus frequency: 15 to 20 mins interval (during peak), 20 to 30 mins interval (during off-peak) Fare: NT$140 (one-way) NT$260 (return) Travel time: About 50 mins

Forumers had posted that Free Go buses did not arrive punctually (about an hour late) on their return journey to TTIA. You may want to take the more regular Kuo Kuang (国光客运) buses departing Taipei East Bus Station near Taipei Main Station. Bus frequency: 15 mins interval. Fare: NT$125 (one-way) Travel time: About 55 mins. Board a MRT train from Ximen Station to Taipei Main Station (one station stop away). MRT Fare: NT$20 Travel time: About 3 mins OR board a cab from XMD to Taipei Main Station Cab fare: About NT$90 ~ NT$100
