Some places to explore in Sun Moon Lake (748m AMSL):

Wen-wu Temple, Tzu-En Pagoda, Lalu Island (Kwang Hwa Island), Peacock Garden, Butterfly Garden, hiking trails (Maolan hiking trail is temporarily closed for construction work), yacht ride to Ita Thao Village (Dehua Village) to view cultural performances, Syuentzand Temple and Syuenguang Temple.

Some places to explore in Alishan (2274m AMSL):

Botanical Garden, Sisters Pond, Three Generation Tree, 3,000 year-old sacred Cypress tree, Tze Yun Temple, Jhushan sunrise and sunset 鈥?Sea of clouds (depending on season and weather), Alishan Police Station, Alishan Guest House, Alishan Work Station are considered best spots to view cherry blossoms (Jan to mid April). The annual cherry blossom in Alishan is usually held from 15 March to 15 April.
