He will pick you up either from the train station, Fenqihu 濂捣婀? or the bus station at Shihjihuo 鐭虫９, and will also take you there the next day to continue your travels.
No need to go on a tour to enjoy Alishan - although remember Jane Su homestay is not in Alishan town - it%26#39;s half way up the mountain.
Charlies is an excellent host and very informative. The homestay is clean and comfortable, although there%26#39;s nowhere nearby to eat really, so unless you have your own transport it is best to bring some snacks with you or eat first.
