Christmas Day is not a public holiday in Taiwan and it is not celebrated in a big way. You can see Christmas decorations in some business establishments.

Tian Wai Tian (澶╁澶? Ma La Huo Guo

Alight at Gongguan MRT Station (use exit 4), behind Gongguan night market. Reputed to serve the best Ma La Huo Guo.

have u tried?

I have not patronized XI DUO WU seafood buffet at Mingyao Department store 12 floor near Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT Station (exit 3).

Hi Ckocean,

For the ma la hot pot, there is different levels of spiciness you can choose, mild, spicy or extra spicy etc.

Recommend to try.

You can also try Fei Tian Mala Huo Guo. At Ximen Station Exit 1. Besides this desert store 85 degrees.

You can also try the very popular 椋炲ぉmala.

There are 2 outlets, 澶уザ and 浜屽ザ. 澶уザoutlet is located very near to NeiJiang/TS Hotel. Their difference is that 澶уザ is more ';high class';. They serve Haga Daz Ice Cream ! (but..be warned that sometimes the favours will ran out..not much choice or that it is very frozen hence diffcult to scope) This would be popular with children. Their charges are of course higher.. by about NT400 (if i remember)

Both are near to Xi Men MRT station.

can my kids take it? mild is... shes 2 yrs %26amp; my son 6 yrs or any other recommendation besides steamboat? thanks

I recommend you try Tian Wai Tian.

They have other hot pots, not just ma la.

They%26#39;ve got curry, tomato, lemongrass and some other ones that I don%26#39;t remember clearly. So if spicy is not your thing, no problem!

The tomato one is a favourite among children.

If that place is packed, walk 2 blocks or so down DingZhou Rd and try Ma La Huo Guo, which is quite similar to Tian Wai Tian but in my opinion isn%26#39;t as good.

Hope this helped.
