Overnight at Changhua, Lukang or Taichung?

From Alishan back to Taipei, I am thinking of not rushing and instead plan to visit Lukang which I will probably arrive in the late afternoon or early evening. I will then want to overnight either there or Taichung or Changhua but not sure which is advisable? Which offers me more things to do or see at night? Thanks.

It all depends on what you are looking for.

If you are looking for luxurious lodging, adult oriented night life, and plenty of shopping venues, stay in Taichung.

If you want to experience traditional Taiwanese culture, stay in LuKang.

pcheng, oh, i%26#39;m definitely for the latter. But I wonder if lukang might have nothing atall at night, that people visit the historical sites %26amp; temples there in the day?

lu, thanks, i was thinking changhua is nearer lukang hence to go from there. but having looked at the link you provided, going from taichung might be an option too. i know from changhua to lukang by bus is about 30-45min but not sure if the bus from taichung to lukang would be about the same?

i have overnite in taichung before and the only thing i did at night was to visit the fengjia night market.

dragonking, did a google for you, think u%26#39;d do better staying in Taichung cos better choices of accomodation there, plus there%26#39;s more to dos at noght.For Lugang, there%26#39;ll be zero activities at night, plus, the only half decent acc I could come up with is :

Though far from luxurious, it at least look safe n clean, unlike the rest which are motels really.

Thank you so much, maria. Hm, I may have to re-plan a bit. Maybe I will just do a quick Lukang tour in the late afternoon and go straight back to taipei.
