alisan chiayi bus transport

going to Alisan this coming january so would like to get more info here.

understand that the alisan forest railway is currently out of service from Chiayi to fenqihu so i have to plan my journey to take the bus instead.

if any one got any idea what is the first bus timing that depart from chiayi railway station. i have book my train journey from fenqihu to alisan but the timing is 1130hr, worry if i will be late to catch that train.

anyone can advice me here?

You have to board the 0710 hrs bus departing Chiayi to Fenchihu.

Buses depart Chiayi Bus Station (on right side of Chiayi Railway Station exit) at 0710 and 1510 hrs (last bus for the day) daily. There is an extra bus departing Chiayi at 1010 hrs on Sat, Sun and public holidays. Fare: NT$155 Travel time: About 1 hr 50 mins

just came back from taiwan 2 months back.

i took a taxi which can hire in advance from chiayi train station instead of the bus. It cost me around 300NT per person. IMO i think it is much more better in term of travelling time.

i took the taxi 8am boarding from my hotel in chiayi then proceed to fenqihu reacing around 9am. from there i took the forest train up to alisan at 11.30am and reached alisan around 1pm+.
