Wholesale centre

Hi,

There are 3 areas,

1) Wufenpu

2) Wanhua Wholesale area.

3) Area Behind the Taipei Main Station: Theis area is for accessories e.t.c. :CC Posted-

';Ho che zhan';: There are 2 ways to walk there from Taipei Railway/MRT Main Station: Cross the pedestrian overpass behind the station and walk west underneath the elevated expressway, or ascend to street level via Taipei City Mall Brown Exits 4, 5, 6 or 7. One of those exits (I think either 5 or 6) as an escalator, which might come in handy as you%26#39;ll be with your 2-year-old. ';Ho che zhan'; is the area within Chongqing N. Rd. (north of Taipei Bus Terminal)/Changan W. Rd./Taiyuan Rd./Civic Blvd.

';Ho Che Zhan'; is like Wufenpu is that it%26#39;s a wholesale area where retailers go to stock up. HOWEVER, it doesn%26#39;t have much clothing (it does, but not much); it%26#39;s a place for bags, costume jewelry, scarves, Hello Kitty, Doraemon, hair ornaments, etc.---the stuff that many vendors display.';

Please note, that%26#39;s Brown N (North) Exits, via Taipei City Metro Mall, not Station Front Metro Mall.....for ';ho che zhan';.

Wufenpu Clothing Wholesale Area is near Sungshan Railway Station, and Wanhua Clothing Wholesale area is near Wanhua Railway Station.

thanks for all the info,, any idea hotel near there?is it in the city area side? 1st time to taiwan, far from airport?

Taipei is nearly an hour away from CKS Airport, which is actually located in Taoyuan. Ximending is located in the Wanhua District, so staying in Ximending would be a good idea---you would have lots to do, see and eat in your spare time. ';Ho che zhan'; behind Taipei Railway Station (sort of NW behind) is just one MRT stop from Ximending. Wufenpu is on the other side of the city, but very convenient to get to from Ximending via the MRT Blue Line. If you%26#39;re going to do some serious buying on a daily basis in Wufenpu and wish to stay nearby, the Wan Tai Hotel (part of the Stars group) is in that area. If you need help find a hotel in Ximending, please let us know your budget and we%26#39;ll give you some suggestions.

This is something I%26#39;ve been hoping to ask:

I recalled there was a GaoFeng 楂樺嘲 Wholesale Centre where I used to visit n bought Taiwan-made blankets from, many years ago.

It was a building with levels selling Taiwan-made stuff, from foods to electronics. One needed to cut some kind of ';membership'; coupon in order to make purchases.

I travelled to n from it by cab, abt 15 mins from Taipei Station area.

Does anyone know:

. Is GaoFeng still there n in business?

. How to get to it by usual transport, instead of cab only?

. Is GFeng a popular shopping for U locals? Why?

Kindly advise. Thks for yr help!

TA :)

Anyone has seen or visited or heard of GaoFeng Wholesale Centre? :)
