hi can anyone help please
my husband and i are planning a trip to taiwan in september, we will be stopping in hong kong for 3 nights, then arriving into taipei, but we are not sure where to stay!!!
we would like a beach resort, which is within walking distance to local restaurants, shops and bars and somewhere within driving distance to taipei as well as other towns and cities, we are really into culture, and would also like the combination of a beach and city holiday...any ideas?
thank you in advance

are there any beach resorts near taipei??Vowslett,
There are some beach resorts at the Northeastern coast but they would be at least 45min%26#39;s drive from TP; plus, the beaches are mostly pebble/ rocky beach, not the sandy type.Kenting in the south has nice sandy beaches and nice resorts offering good value for money but, they are about 40 min%26#39;s away from TP by flight. To do the %26#39;culture%26#39; , one would have to be in TP city unless you want to spend an hour each commuting to n fro.Sept is a good time for hot spring and the weather is just beginning to cool making a pleasant time to travel.Do let us know what are your priority in th choice of hotel and sights you are interested so we could better help.
thank you for your replies, i am now thinking of spending 3 nights in taipei, do you think that is long enough?
Fulong Beach and the Fulong Bellevue Resort, in Taipei County, are about a 1-hr. train ride from downtown Taipei. It being a remote area, there are no shops or bars and no decent restaurants in the vicinity, however. Eating options are limited to the resort restaurant and small eateries. Fulong can be included as a stop whether you%26#39;re driving or taking the train down/up the East Coast. I%26#39;ve created a Go List for the area---you may find more info here:
