Going to Taipei tmr after months of planning! Really must thank the local experts here for their useful advice! One last thing to ask:

I will need to make and receive calls from Singapore lines when I am in Taipei as I%26#39;m meeting up with some friends from HK, SG and of course TW! I hardly make overseas call so practically dunno what to do!!

Thought of ICC cards, seems like they can only be used on public phones? My M1 phone does not have roaming, checked the charges..too ex..for a one time use. One time activation is $20 and subscription is $10!!

I looked at the forums on calling but got too confused!!

The BIG QNS: Should i get a prepaid SIM card in Singapore/Taipei? Which one shall I get? If Taipei, Where can I get them?

singtel line provide autoroaming and the chrgs are reasonable..

further more, singtel only charge when you use it.. pay only when you use it.

i called back from tw everyday back to singapore when i was there in sept..

i think there is no other chrgs. u might wan to check out with singtel.

Hi,

Get a new PP sim card here with a new number from TCC or Chunghua. Costs from NTD300 up. Ask for the cheapest.Then you can SMS your Taiwan contact to your friends. All they need is a copy of your PP. There is a counter at the Airport, on your right after you exit to Arrival Hall in Terminal 1.
