Kaohsiung, Lovers' Bridge, train stations

Is it more convenient to stay around the TRA station in Kaohsiung than near the Lovers%26#39; Bridge? I read in many threads that buses to attractions leave from the TRA station. Are there hotels around the TRA stations? Is the TRA station quite a distrance from the Zuoying HSR? After Kaohsiung I return to Taipei so it would save a lot of time taking the HSR. Thanks.

Stay near the TRA station.

1 - There are plenty of lodging options near the train station, and they are reasonably priced.

2 - Ease of transportation. The TRA station is the hub for all forms of transportation. Not only do you get the trains, you also have access to city bus, long distance coaches, Kenting express, and the subway (which will get you to the HSR station in a few minutes).

3 - Liu-He night market is less than 5 minutes away from the train station.

From TRA to Zuoying HSR takes about 20 minutes.

Stay at King%26#39;s Town, just behind Kaohsiung TRA.

Thanks pcheng and momow. Very very useful.

I cannot remember if we can take TRA to Zuoying HSR but definitely can take the new MRT, to Zuoying HSR. The journey is about 20 minutes.

Very very sorry about the mix up..:o(

Another info, there%26#39;s a MRT station next to TRA station.

Oh wow, I didn%26#39;t even know Kaohsiung has got MRT! I thought only Taipei. That would be fun, and much more easier to explore le. I only have about a day. Coming from Penghu to Chiayi, than from Chiayi to Kaohsiung, then next day around evening return to Taipei. Thanks very much again.

Yes, Kaohsiung have it now.

I went for a half day tour, using the MRT...hahahah...very very convenient....

楂橀泟搴锋鍟嗘梾 Kindness hotel.

They have multiple locations at the front station area, with the closest just 3 minutes by foot.

Right now they are running a promotion of 999 NTD during the grand opening of their Kaohsiung High School branch location.

Thanks momow and pcheng. Will definitely check out the hotels you recommended. Won%26#39;t be going so soon as still gathering info on a lot of places where I%26#39;m visiting for the first time but the Kaohsiung hotel rates look reasonable. King%26#39;s Town Hotel looks good.

King%26#39;s Town Hotel%26#39;s buffet breakfast spread is also good.
