How to get to Sun Moon Lake from Hualien

Hi

Anyone can advise how I can travel from HuaLien to Sun Moon Lake? Am planning a stayover in Hualien for one night, then proceeding to SML the next day.

Then from SML, any suggestion of a one day agenda, then heading back to Taipei in the evening?

Read alot of threads about Mr Lu and the service he provides in HuaLien. Any idea whether he can cover the transport to SML as well, and the indicative cost?
