Attractions along HSR

Hi,

I intend to experience the HSR in Taiwan. May I know along the HSR, which tourist attraction do you think it is most worthwhile to stop by? As the tickets is quite expensive, I will only do a day trip and return back to Taipei.

BTW, I have read the attractions listed in the HSR website but just did not know which to go. As time is a luxury, a attraction near the HSR train station will be great.
